Moms on the march

I have had an idea. Been munching on all morning.
In raising funds for the Haitian missions project it hit me that as a Mom on a Mission or Mom on a purpose why not call out all moms to help?
Here is what i am proposing.
To get this first run of food and water to Haiti we need at least 500 moms to donate at minimum $5.00.
That’s it!
And it will raise the needed funds to purchase the food and water and take care of shipping!
Would you join me moms?? Click here:  Moms on a Mission for Haitian Relief

The hardest thing….

I am sure most have been watching the scenes from Haiti. Today there was an earthquake in Guatemala. Haven’t heard if there was any damage but things seem to be really quaking all through that region.
I want so much to help but i need more people to join me.
The hardest thing for me to do is ask for help.
Being a rather self sufficient person when i saw this disaster i knew i could not just sit there and throw a measly buck or two at the problem. I desired to help solve the situation in any way i could.
So I took a step in faith.
If you would please consider joining me in sending food, water and other things to Haiti.
It is focused giving in that a large group of people in ministry and who are being ministered to by Harvest of Haiti will see to it the goods are delivered.
I am in a unique situation where i can have this sent direct from package manufacturer straight to Haiti.
Pray about this and consider taking on this mission with me.

Mom on a Mission

I’ve been ‘Beary’ busy :)

An unexpected opportunity came up recently. I love to sew for my family and make many of my childrens clothing. This past weekend my 7 year old daughter wanted me to make a warm fuzzy type coat. I had lots of flannel given to me over the last couple years and found a large piece of a heavy floral piece that was perfect for a fall to early winter style coat. My daughter loves it! Just the right warmth for the cooler days here in Minnesota.
While I was sewing my daughter went thru the several boxes of odds and ends i have and picked out several blue flannel prints. She wanted me to make a teddy bear. So we did!
She stuffed what I sewed.
Friends learned of this bear and now I am asked to make some in time for Christmas. The word is getting around.
I do need extra money for bills and such so i have decided to take what i normally just do as a hobby and fun passion and make a business of sorts out of it.
I love doing things like this because each bear is different with it’s own personality.
I would love to make you a memory bear. Just email me.
After consulting with friends and family it is decided each bear will be priced at $49.95 plus $5.00 for shipping and handling.
I guarantee my work. :)
I will post pictures as I can, but here is a picture of the bear my daughter and I made.

Finally!!!

E-cookbook is back up!
I have also been working on a new newsletter. I hope to encourage mom’s and other authors out there to submit articles, tips etc. Even kids can contribute! I hope to also share new products coming out from my company NutritionMom Inc as i will need ‘beta testers’ to get opinions etc. :)
I have decided to offer my E-Book, Don’t Just Sneak It In, Teach It In! for free! And hopefully people will also sign up for the weekly newsletter for a small monthly fee of $2.95.
I would love to see a million Mom’s on a mission 4 nutrition join me.
Just read the lastest statistics from USDA and CDC on the rise of obesity and man, all i can say is the solution starts at home!
In my free E-book i show how to use the dehydrator drying a rainbow of fruits and veggies, blend with whole grains and you can make just about anything from main meals to desserts that are chock full of nutrition.
Many are talking about sneaking in things kids don’t like into foods, but truly, you must get the kids to be a part of the process. You can sneak it in at first but get the kids involved in making those foods.
For example, i make chocolate chip, oatmeal cookies with dried fruits and veggies in them!
1 tablespoon/8 grams of dried fruits and veggies equals 1 full serving of each! Very easy to infuse one or two tablespoons in just about any recipe. I will show you how in my new Free E-Book.
And the USDA is recommending 5-9 servings of these a day!
I don’t eat 5-9 fresh fruits and veggies a day but i have figured out how to ensure i get 5-9 servings by drying them and grinding it to a powder.
In fact, my company NutritionMom Inc now has a FAVI product coming out where it is a neutral blend combination of fruits AND veggies that works in any recipe!
But the concept is something moms can do at home with the kids beyond veggie and fruit chips, rollups etc.

Don’t Just Sneak it in, Teach it in!

Well i did it. I finally wrote my first mini cookbook based on my ideas of getting kids to eat more fruit and veggies with dehydrated foods.
I have built my business on this concept.
Here is how it works.
You take items you grow in your garden or get at your local farmers market and simply dehydrate them.
Then when everything is dry and crispy, put it all in a blender and grind to a powder.
Then simply add 1 tablespoon to any baked or cooked recipe. The cool thing is…1 tablespoon of a combination of fruits and veggies equals one full serving of each!
I like the fact i can start by sneaking it in foods then i include the kids in cutting, drying and mixing.
Eventually they know what they are eating and love to be a part.
The fun thing is too that the kids can get experimental! That is where it gets interesting. lol
For example, I blend together dried carrot, apple, zucchini, kale, pear, radish and handful of greens like lettuces.
THis makes a wonderful neutral tasting blend for the most part.
I then include 1-3 tablespoons (that is up to 3 servings each of fruit and veggies) to various baked or cooked items.
It thickens up soups, sauces, and works wonderfully well in items like cookies, bars, cakes and even candies like fudge. :)
I even make milkshakes to die for and the kids know that fruit and veggies are in there somewhere! lol
Kids are funny. One time one of my kids wanted to dry onions, tomatoes, carrots and potatoes! lol
well it tasted pretty interesting and we learned it could work in lots of items but not so much with sweet stuff. lol
but hey, they want to learn why it is good to eat certain things and by dehydrating they may not see it in the foods but they know it is there. Why? Because i have been able to make their fav foods that look and taste just like ‘normal’ foods. lol
Move over Jessica Seinfeld!!
lol
I will have my mini cookbook ready very soon for purchase.
I hope you all will spread the word and learn to deal with finicky eating in a really innovative creative way!
